FIRST VISIT GUIDE

Your First Visit,
Simplified.

Never been to an indoor climbing gym? Here's exactly what to expect — from walking in the door to finishing your first route.

01

Sign Your Waiver

All climbers must sign our liability waiver before their first session. Save time by signing online in advance — it only takes a few minutes.

02

Wear the Right Gear

Comfortable athletic clothing that lets you move freely. Avoid jeans, belts, or anything restrictive. Climbing shoes are available to rent at the front desk — no need to bring your own.

03

Check In at the Front Desk

Our staff will greet you, verify your waiver, set you up with any rental gear, and give you a quick orientation to the facility — walls, rules, safety systems, and restrooms.

04

Start in the Bouldering Area

New climbers almost always start in the bouldering section. No harness required — just shoes and chalk. Routes are graded by difficulty so you can start easy and work your way up.

05

Try the Auto-Belay Walls

Our top rope walls are equipped with auto-belay devices — no partner or certification needed. Staff will show you how to clip in safely. It's easier than it looks, we promise.

06

Ask Questions & Have Fun

Our staff and community are incredibly welcoming. Don't hesitate to ask for beta (advice on routes), gear tips, or program recommendations. Everyone here was a beginner once.

Common First-Timer Questions

How long should I plan to stay?

Most first-timers spend 1.5 to 3 hours. Your day pass is good for the whole day, so feel free to take breaks, explore, and come back to the walls.

Will I be sore after?

Probably yes — especially in your forearms, hands, and core. This is totally normal and fades with regular sessions. Stretch, hydrate, and rest your hands between visits.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many of our members climb solo. The bouldering area is perfect for solo sessions, and auto-belays mean you don't need a partner for the rope walls either.

What if I'm afraid of heights?

Bouldering walls are typically 12–15 feet — much lower than top rope walls. Many people with height concerns find bouldering totally manageable and even therapeutic.
