Summit Forge is an active project. This page tracks our progress from concept to opening day. We'll update it as milestones are reached.
SBA Financing
We're actively working through the SBA loan process. This involves preparing financial projections, business plans, and documentation required by lenders and the SBA. This is a critical step in securing the capital needed to build the facility.
Facility Search
We're evaluating potential locations in the Sauk Rapids–St. Cloud area. Finding the right space is one of the most important decisions in this project — we need a building with sufficient ceiling height for rope climbing walls, adequate parking, and a location that's accessible to the community.
Business Planning
Our business plan is complete. It outlines our mission, target market, competitive analysis, financial projections, operational plan, and growth strategy. This document serves as the foundation for our financing applications and guides our decision-making.
Financial Planning
Detailed financial projections have been developed, including startup costs, operating expenses, revenue forecasts, and break-even analysis. These projections are essential for lender conversations and for keeping the project on track.
Operations Platform
We've been building our operations platform — the systems that will manage memberships, bookings, waivers, scheduling, and communications. Having these systems in place before opening will help us provide a smooth experience from day one.
Design & Engineering
Once a facility is secured, we'll work with climbing wall designers and engineers to create the layout, route designs, and overall facility plan. This is where the gym starts to take shape on paper.
Construction & Build-Out
Construction will include building the climbing walls, installing flooring and safety systems, setting up the training area, and completing the general build-out of the facility. We'll share progress as this phase begins.
Hiring & Opening
As construction nears completion, we'll begin hiring staff — instructors, route setters, front desk team, and management. Then we'll open our doors. We'll share opening details through our Founding Member list and website.
